I had no clue. Really.
I’ve been to the quilt show at the convention center in Phoenix a couple of times. It’s ok but I skipped it this year because it’s just ok and the transit time to get there and back from my house means that I decided to be lazy and not go. Bad me.
Then I saw something online about Quiltcon in Phoenix at the Convention Center. Much easier to get there, but when there was no parking in the main garage, I should have realized something was up.
Absolutely stunning display of quilts – and the vendors are definitely a leveled up game from most of the stuff I’ve been to around here. Which is kind of weird since there are a lot of retirees here and quilting (used to be, at least) is known as an old lady pursuit. Not any more. Go fiber art!
I actually joined the local PHXMQG guild as well after this adventure.
Quick note – this is a BIG gallery so it maybe takes a bit to load. Be patient.
My favorite vendor this time –
Crimson Tate – these fabrics pack a punch and a half, so many off beat, unusual, really awesome looking choices.
Runner up –
Lo and Behold Stitchery – great fabrics, TONS of interesting pattern designs
