OMG, it’s like MAGIC here today!
I absolutely LOVE the Desert Botanical Garden – we have a long standing membership and it’s one of the most amazing places in town to go and hang out. There are a lot of little nooks and crannies (looking at you, Archer House) where you can take a book and go sit and read in the middle of this amazing place and people don’t bug you, they just let you read in peace.
We had record amounts of rainfall as we transitioned into what passes for fall around here, and Thanksgiving week was the perfect time to go check out the garden and see just how all these uber thirsty plants that don’t normally get this kind of water would respond. And it did not disappoint. I don’t recall ever seeing the garden in such a lush state – it looked more like Hawaii than Phoenix in some places.
And there’s a killer new art exhibit scattered throughout the garden and an AV presentation in the new building – LIDAR, time lapse, photos all combined to create some out of this world visuals.
